Inspired by a true legal case in Hong Kong, The Prosecutor tells the story of a man who falsely pleads guilty to drug trafficking after being framed for it. Despite the confession, the veteran cop-turned-prosecutor (Donnie Yen) handling the case is convinced of the man’s innocence and conducts his own investigation, putting both his own life and his family at risk.
