WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Need to Get Away From (2023). I read the Hughes trilogy years ago and loved the books immensely. When I randomly scrolled through IMDB and found SILO, I was instantly intrigued. I see pretty mixed opinions and I can relate to some of them, here’s my first season. First of all, I love dystopian literature!
It’s not an adaptation in the sense that it follows the plot
The dystopian genre offers a unique psychological perspective on human nature in hypothetical scenarios. Hughes managed to develop Orwellian ideas into a hypothesis relevant to the modern world, which reinforced my love for Trinity. Depicting the development of the human psyche in dystopian scenarios is a challenging task. I think Hughes did a fantastic job, and SILO captures many of these elements in a refreshing way. It’s based on the books, but the viewers have to adapt to a fast-paced world.
The action for the main characters is superb
However, the series manages to capture the atmosphere of a society living in a silo. Unlike the shallow stories of other shows, “SILO” has a wonderful mix of character development and atmospheric focus. The only problem I have with the show is the lack of atmospheric development. They spend a lot of screen time watching and surprising Juliet. They lack the atmospheric development of a silo as a society.

Of course, it should appeal to the intended audience.
