Carousel” Performed by Alexander McCabe Screenplay: Alexander McCabe
Scenario
A woman takes a break from her career to become a housewife, but soon her home life takes a surreal turn. The film was originally planned to be released immediately on Hulu, but rave reviews prompted Searchlight Pictures to release it in wide theaters instead. release instead.. Starring: Graham Norton and guests: Bruce Springsteen / Amy Adams / Vanessa Williams / Bill Bailey / St. Vincent (2024). The film is good overall, but I expected it to be more dark and scary than comedic.
Adams is undoubtedly stunning
The target audience must be parents. Although I am not a parent now, I completely agree with the themes presented. If you have any questions about motherhood and female anger, you may find this film relatable. The script is also well written; some of the character dialogue is very sharp. Mariel Heller is definitely a talented female director who can adapt a seemingly impossible book into a successful film. This is her best performance so far, and probably the best performance I have seen this year.
This is a career-defining performance
She is fierce, brave and funny. She really brings the role to life. The depth of her performance is evident in the intricate details of her facial expressions, which perfectly capture her anger, joy and pain. Adams embodies the role of a mother with an authenticity that resonates deeply, perhaps stemming from her own experiences as a real mother. This personal connection elevates her performance, making it both relatable and authentic. I can’t help but feel a strong connection between her character and my own mother, as if she captures the essence of a mother’s love and sacrifice in a way that really speaks to me.
No, definitely not
This film seems to be a source of controversy to this day. I’ve seen some people disparage her performance, and many feel like Adams shouldn’t have won or even been nominated for this strange role. For me, acting awards are always based on the performance, not the movie. She’s the driving force behind the movie. She should definitely be nominated or even win. The passion shouldn’t be lost.
Scoot McNiry is also fantastic
I hope more people can learn and understand my arguments. Despite some flaws, the movie is worth watching.
